Our Beliefs
At Highlands Church, we’re doing our best to imitate “the ridiculous love Almighty God has for each of us and all of us.” Together as a faith community following on the heels of Jesus, we’re trying to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God.
What Kind of Community We’re Trying to Be
Each week before the message we read our ethos to remind us of the way we deliberately choose to treat one another. It’s our attempt to put into words what it looks like a build a community that welcomes everyone:
Married, divorced or single here, it's one family that mingles here.
Conservative or liberal here, we’ve all gotta give a little here.
Big or small here, there’s room for us all here.
Doubt or believe here, we all can receive here.
Gay or straight here, there’s no hate here
Woman or man here, everyone can here.
Whatever your race here, for all of us grace here.
What We Believe
At Highlands Church, though our culture, thoughts and practices are often very different from the church of the first century, our beliefs about God are consistent with what followers of Jesus have been saying from the beginning as expressed in the Apostle’s Creed.
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
The third day He arose again from the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy *catholic church,
