Rachael presents the poem "The Waking" by Theodore Roethke, as made into a song by Kurt Elling. In it, the paradoxical themes of life and death, faith and doubt and the paradoxical nature of Jesus and his "upside-down kingdom" are explored. The sermon is a practice in bringing our responses to these themes into a conversation with God.
